The Finance Manager – Kenya is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the Kenyan entity, ensuring strong financial control, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery of financial information to both local management and Group. The role acts as a key business partner supporting decision-making while safeguarding the company’s financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Lead the annual budget, forecasts, and long-range planning processes.
Perform detailed financial analysis of factory performance and General & Administrative (G&A) costs.
Oversee inventory valuation, cost accounting, and margin analysis.
Prepare local statutory and management reporting with clear variance analysis.
Provide insightful financial commentary to support operational and strategic decisions.
Tax & Compliance
Manage all local tax matters including corporate income tax, VAT, and withholding taxes.
Prepare and review tax computations and support tax audits and inspections.
Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with Group policies.
Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors to mitigate tax and compliance risks.
Treasury & Cash Management
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts and working capital requirements.
Manage relationships with local banks and negotiate financing facilities where required.
Ensure optimal liquidity management and compliance with Group treasury policies.
Group Consolidation & Reporting
Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Group.
Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and IFRS requirements.
Coordinate tax reporting as part of Group consolidation processes.
Act as the key local contact for Group Finance and external auditors.
Work hand in hand with Center of Excellence Finance based in Kenya
Controls & Governance
Validate and approve payments in line with delegation of authority.
Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with external audit requirements.
Support continuous improvement of finance processes and systems, especially implementation of SAP FI-CO module
Key Requirements & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA) preferred.
6 to 12 years of total experience in finance roles.
Previous experience in audit firm is required.
Strong background in manufacturing or trading environments.
Experience working in an international company with Group reporting exposure and interaction with FX.
Solid understanding of FP&A, taxation, treasury, and consolidation reporting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both local and international stakeholders.
