    Finance Officer

    Department: Finance.

    Reports To: Finance Coordinator

    Job Description:

    Chupa Chap, a dynamic player in the alcohol and beverage industry, is in search of a Finance Officer to join our team. Reporting directly to the Finance Coordinator, the Finance Officer will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial accuracy and contributing to the strategic financial goals of the organization.

    Responsibilities:

    Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare accurate, fully reconciled timely financial statements including but not limited to income statements, statements of financial position, cash flow statements, and related financial reports.
    • Collaborate with the Finance Coordinator department to analyze financial data for decision-making.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Perform month-end and year-end close processes.

    Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliation of accounts.
    • Work closely with the Finance Coordinator to manage customer invoicing and collections.
    • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable to minimize outstanding balances.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Support the Finance and management team in the development and monitoring of budgets.
    • Contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analyses.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance.

    Resource Management:

    • Collaborate with department heads to track and manage company expenses and purchases.
    • Implement cost control measures under the guidance of the Finance Coordinator.
    • Conduct periodic expense reviews with department heads.
    • Assist and advise on Safeguarding the company assets by ensuring proper fixed asset register, Stock accounts, bank, and cash accounts.

    Financial Audits:

    • Assist in the coordination and facilitation of internal and external audits.
    • Ensure timely provision of financial information to auditors.
    • Implement corrective actions based on audit recommendations, reporting to the Finance Coordinator.

    Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:

    • Stay informed about financial regulations and ensure company-wide compliance.
    • Collaborate with the Finance Coordinator and legal team to address compliance issues.
    • Implement and update financial policies and procedures under the guidance of the Finance Coordinator.
    • Assist and advise on related compliance.

    Cash Flow Management:

    • Monitor and manage daily cash flows to ensure liquidity.
    • Work with the Finance Coordinator to forecast future cash needs.
    • Optimize cash management processes for efficiency.

    Minimum requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is highly desirable.
    • 2-3 years’ work experience as an accountant.

    Key Skills and Competencies

    • Considerable knowledge of financial accounting systems and MS Excel.
    • Ability to perform professional accounting work by the international “Generally Accepted Accounting and Auditing Principles” (GAAP), procedures and controls.
    • Effective communication skills ability to present ideas clearly, both orally and in writing and to prepare comprehensive reports.
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly, gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, work well in groups, in problem-solving situations, and use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
    • Considerable knowledge of computerized information and financial management systems (ERPs), spreadsheets (Google Sheets and Excel), and computerized accounting systems.
    • Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines, analyze financial and operational data and information, and think analytically and critically.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, remain open to new ideas, and experiment with improved systems and proven methods.
    • Ability and willingness to make consultative decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, support and explain the reasoning for decisions, include appropriate people in the decision-making process, and make timely decisions.
