Job Brief

Nabo Capital Limited is looking for a Fund Operations Analyst whose pivotal role is ensuring the smooth and accurate operation of Nabo investment funds.

As a Fund Operations Analyst, your responsibilities will revolve around reconciliation, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of financial data. It will also include various operational aspects, including trade settlements, cash management, compliance, and reconciliation processes.

Principle Accountabilities:

Reconciliation Responsibilities

• Perform daily, monthly, and yearly reconciliations of financial and investment data, including cash positions, trade settlements, securities holdings, and other relevant data.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies within reconciliations promptly, investigating the sources of discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed records of reconciliation activities and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

Investment Operations Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution and monitoring of timely and accurate trade settlements, collaborating with brokers, custodians, and trading desks to resolve any trade-related issues.
• Manage daily cash flows, ensuring sufficient liquidity for investment decisions and redemptions.
• Monitor and control fund expenses, reviewing and approving reports from service providers and vendors.
• Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and conduct periodic compliance reviews.
• Handle investor inquiries, statements, and documentation requests, ensuring an exceptional experience for investors.
• Generate data analysis and reports to support investment strategies and decision-making.

Process Improvement

• Continuously assess reconciliation and operational processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Propose and implement improvements, including automation of reconciliation and operational tasks when applicable.

Communication and Collaboration

• Collaborate with fund accountants, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to resolve reconciliation issues.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to management and relevant teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, ACCA) or certification in financial software/tools.
• 5-6 years’ work experience in Fund management or another fast-paced, knowledge-based work environment. - Strong understanding of fund accounting principles and financial markets.
• Proficiency in financial software and reconciliation tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards in fund management.
• Experience with data analysis and reconciliation software is preferred.
