    Fundraising Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities

    • Implement a global fundraising strategy that grows and diversifies inABLE’s income from foundations, institutional donors, corporates, and individual philanthropists in the US, Europe, Africa, and beyond.
    • Lead proactive funder outreach, identifying and approaching foundations and donors aligned with disability inclusion, assistive technology, education, and digital accessibility (e.g., disability rights, EdTech, and Africa-focused funders).
    • Write and coordinate compelling grant proposals, for both project and general operating support,  translating inABLE’s impact data and beneficiary stories into persuasive cases for support.
    • Steward and grow an active portfolio of funders, ensuring excellent relationship management, timely reporting, and compliance that builds trust and leads to renewals and increased funding.
    • Build consortium and alliance partnerships with INGOs, disability organisations, tech companies, and development actors to unlock larger, multi-partner funding opportunities.
    • Coordinate proposal budgets and supporting documentation in collaboration with programme and finance teams, ensuring accuracy, full cost recovery, and donor compliance.
    • Monitor and analyse global funding opportunities (grants, contracts, corporate partnerships), facilitating internal go/no-go decisions and advising colleagues on positioning.
    • Leverage the Inclusive Africa Conference and inABLE’s thought leadership to raise the organisation’s profile with funders, cultivate prospects, and secure sponsorships.
    • Manage fundraising systems and processes, including the CRM, donor pipeline, reporting dashboards, and sign-off procedures, to drive consistency and productivity.
    • Embed a fundraising culture across inABLE, supporting and coaching colleagues to identify funding opportunities and articulate fundable propositions.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (communications, development studies, business, or similar).
    • At least 5 years’ experience in institutional fundraising, development, or partnerships within the NGO or social enterprise sector (candidates with 3+ years of highly relevant experience are encouraged to apply).
    • Proven track record securing five- to six-figure grants from international foundations, institutional donors, or corporates, and managing a portfolio with competing deadlines.
    • Outstanding written English,  able to craft clear, persuasive, analytical proposals and reports.
    • Strong understanding of the global philanthropic landscape, ideally including disability inclusion, education, or technology-for-development funders.
    • Knowledge of the African development context and networks; experience fundraising for Africa-based programmes is a strong advantage.
    • Experience using a CRM to manage pipelines and donor data.
    • Confident presenter, able to build trust with donors, boards, and steering committees across cultures.
    • Strategically agile, resilient under pressure, collaborative, and with a strong sense of ownership.
