    General Manager

    • They are looking to recruit a key member of the leadership team to lead the commercial and operations teams.

    Responsibilities:

    • The GM of Commercial & Operations will be a member of the Executive Committee and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer
    • Lead the sales and operation departments and activities of the company and Formulate and implement effective sales strategies.
    • Monitor customer, industry, and competitor developments to facilitate continued relevance of the company’s products
    • Pursue new business and strategies as well as lead in the development of new products and services.
    • Lead the development of company sales budgets and financial plans
    • Lead the expansion of the company into new locations and markets
    • Develop and implement policies to ensure portfolio quality remains within company limits.
    • Oversee the delivery of the company’s revenue targets and operational processes
    • Oversee all lending, portfolio monitoring, and collections operations of the company, including recruitment of key personnel in these departments
    • Develop and implement company lending and operational policies.
    • Manage key 3rd party relationships to ensure the company achieves deployment and collection targets
    • Develop appropriate staff training, monitoring and incentive plans to support the company in achieving its goals
    • Oversee the daily operations and staff within the departments under his/her purview
    • Other responsibilities may be agreed from time-to-time with the CEO.

    Qualifications:

    • At least 10 years of experience in a microfinance lending business, with a significant portion spent in branch or loan origination roles
    • At least 7 years of experience managing teams, with a specific focus on sales and operations teams in microfinance organizations.
    • Demonstrated experience leading microfinance sales teams in achieving their sales targets
    • Must be able to pass CBK fit and proper tests
    • Bachelor’s and/or Masters in business-related degrees from recognised universities
    • Strong digital proficiency
    • Ability to work in Kenya without sponsorship (preferably a Kenyan citizen)
    • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili
