GSE Technician - Mombasa at Kenya Airways

Brief Description        

To service, maintain and repair Ground Handling Suppor tEquipment for service delivery in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Detailed Description        

Policies and Procedures:

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements,policies, processes, procedures, organization standards and local procedures isachieved so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Safety, Quality & Environment:
• Embrace a positive safetyculture, healthy, secure and cost-effective operations for Kenya Airways andensure compliance with the relevant industry / legislative requirements and companyprocedures.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, incidents,and accidents.
• Service maintains and repair GH equipment and facilities for effectiveservice delivery in a cost-effective manner.
• Assess defects on GSE and facilities, perform root cause analysis andcarry out corrective measures.
• Effectively respond to GSE emergency break downs for timely servicedeliver and avoid A/C delays
• Carry out repairs, overhauls and modifications on major equipmentcomponents which include engines, Gear boxes, and transmission systems,hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Identify and requisition materials for the task at hand to ensure timelyrelease and availability of GSE and motor-vehicles for ground operations.
• Document and maintain records of all maintenance activities &equipment history.
• Offer quality workmanship on all GH equipment and motor vehicles toenhance safety & project the organization’s image positively.
• Adhere to KQ WAY principals and best practices.

Job Requirements        

• Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Mechatronic / Plant Engineering, orrelated discipline with 3 years relevant experience OR
• TechnicianII, Craft certificate II or Government Trade Test I in Automotive Mechanic/Electrician/Welder or related discipline with 5 years relevant experience.
• Experience in Automotive /Heavy diesel / Mobile plant environment
• Experience in computerised,PLC Repairs
• 3 years’work experience
