Head of Actuaries at Network Recruitment

Our client, a top-tier Pan-African bank, is seeking a Head of Actuaries to lead actuarial strategy and drive data-informed decision-making across their business. This is a key leadership role with high visibility—perfect for a seasoned actuary ready to make a meaningful impact in the banking and insurance space

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead actuarial strategy across the organization
• Oversee pricing, reserving, and capital modelling
• Provide insights on risk, profitability, and financial performance
• Ensure compliance with IFRS 17, Solvency II, and local regulations
• Lead product design and pricing initiatives
• Manage a team of actuaries and build talent pipelines
• Collaborate with senior leaders on business planning and innovation

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field
• Fellowship/Associate certification (FIA, FSA, ASA, etc.)
• 10+ years’ actuarial experience, 5+ in leadership roles
• Strong in Prophet, R, Python, or similar tools
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk principles
• Strategic mindset with strong communication and leadership skills
