Head of Finance and Strategy at Safaricom Investment Co-operative (S.I.C.)

We are seeking a Head of Finance and Strategy to lead the finance function at SIC and oversee the execution of strategic initiatives. The role is central to ensuring robust financial planning, risk management, compliance, and long-term sustainability in line with the company’s investment mandate.

What You Will Do

• Leading all aspects of financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, audit, and compliance.
• Developing and implementing long-term financial strategies aligned with corporate goals.
• Providing financial insight and leadership on strategic initiatives, capital projects, and investment structuring.
• Overseeing financial risk management, internal controls, and reporting standards.
• Managing relationships with auditors, investors, regulators, and financial institutions.
• Driving business performance through accurate and timely financial reporting and strategic alignment.
• Integrate financial management with long-term strategic planning and investment performance tracking.
• Provide leadership in financial reporting, investor relations, budgeting, audit, compliance, and strategic planning.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance, driving data-informed decision-making, supporting capital raising initiatives, and providing financial stewardship across all investment activities.
• Governance and risk control expectations for investment entities managing third-party and institutional capital.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• Masters Degree in Finance, Strategic Management, or an MBA with a focus in finance is desirable.
• 7-12 years of progressive experience in finance, with 3-5 years in a senior or executive role leading financial strategy and planning.
• Must be a CPA-K and member of ICPAK in good standing.
