Head of Operations and Product Development at Safaricom Investment Co-operative (S.I.C.)

We are seeking a Head of Operations and Product development to oversee critical strategic and operational functions in the business, including ICT, investor relations, new venture sales, product development, and the management of historically problematic land assets. The role is designed to drive innovation, efficiency, and cross-functional alignment in support of the company’s real estate growth strategy.

What You Will Do

• Overseeing ICT infrastructure and digitization of business operations.
• Leading investor relations communication and reporting.
• Developing and launching new property products based on market research and strategic priorities.
• Coordinating with Sales, Legal, and Development teams to resolve challenges related to legacy land.
• Managing operational workflows, ensuring timely project delivery, and improving efficiency across departments.
• Driving performance through KPIs, data-driven decision-making, and continuous process improvement.
• Create new real estate ventures that require strong operational coordination and market-aligned product development.
• Harmonize ICT systems, investor engagement, and sales support for new business lines.
• Provide strategic oversight and resolution of legacy issues with problematic land, including stakeholder engagement, legal follow-up, and land use planning.
• Improve accountability, speed to market, process innovation, and investor confidence.
• Support the companys transformation into a more agile, tech-enabled, investor-responsive, and product-focused organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Real Estate management or a related field.
• Masters Degree in Real Estate, Valuation and Property Management, Project Management, Product Development or any other relevant is desirable.
• 10 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, product development, or service delivery, with 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Certifications: Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), Project Management Professional
• Demonstrated experience in: Leading end-to-end operations (supply chain, logistics, procurement, service delivery), Designing and launching new products or services, Process improvement, operational efficiency, and cost optimization, Building and scaling operational systems and processes, Working with cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, finance, customer service), Managing product roadmaps, R&D, and innovation pipelines, Quality assurance, compliance, and risk management
