    Head of Sales, Kenya and Cluster Lead

    THE ROLE PURPOSE

    • We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled professional to join our Treasury team as Head of Sales, Kenya and Cluster Lead.
    • The job holder provides strategic leadership in driving the growth of the Treasury Sales franchise across country and the assigned regional cluster.
    • The role leads Corporate, SME, Retail, Public Sector, Financial Institution sales and E-Sales, while also spearheading the digital sales strategy to scale e‑trading platforms, digital wallet solutions, and technology‑driven client engagement.
    • The job holder ensures alignment with Treasury Strategy, ARRP, and Group governance standards, while enhancing revenue growth, market penetration, and client experience through both traditional and digital sales channels. the KEY responsibilities 

    Strategic Leadership – Sales, Origination & E-Sales

    • Define and execute the combined Sales, Origination, and E‑Sales strategy across country and the regional cluster.
    • Drive revenue and market share growth across traditional and digital channels.
    • Lead the sales teams covering Corporate, SME, Retail, Public Sector, FI, and digital client segments.
    • Ensure full alignment with Treasury Strategy, ARRP, and the regional growth priorities.

    Digital Sales & Platform Growth

    • Lead the digital sales strategy, driving adoption of e‑trading platforms for FX trading across all client segments.
    • Ensure deep integration of digital wallet solutions within client journeys.
    • Grow digital revenue streams, including diaspora remittance flows, trade finance flows, and platform‑based FX activity.
    • Partner with technology, payments, and product teams to innovate and enhance digital offerings.
    • Seamlessly migrate targeted clients from voice/chat to structured, scalable digital channels (e.g EazzyFX).

    Business Development & Market Expansion

    • Strengthen client relationships across all segments, offering tailored solutions.
    • Identify cross‑border opportunities across Africa and develop strategies to capture them.
    • Champion cross‑selling initiatives leveraging Treasury, Payments, and Client solutions.
    • Build relationships with multinational and institutional corporates, regional champions, institutional investors and public sector entities among others.
    • Champion client‑centric solutions that enhance convenience, accessibility, and experience.
    • Monitor client feedback across all channels and use insights to improve offerings.
    • Ensure consistency across branches, online channels, and mobile platforms.

    Regional and Cluster Oversight

    • Provide oversight and harmonization of Sales & E‑Sales strategy across the footprint.
    • Partner with Country Sales Heads to align regional and local execution priorities.
    • Track performance metrics and provide guidance in areas of underperformance.
    • Represent Treasury regionally to elevate the bank’s visibility and engagement across industry forums where Sales/E-Sales features.

     Risk Management

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions.
    • Uphold strong market conduct, operational risk, and credit risk management practices.
    • Partner with Risk & Compliance teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
    • Ensure adherence to governance frameworks including Product Notes, policies, limits, and ethical guidelines.

    Governance

    • Ensure compliance with all Group and treasury governance policies.
    • Promote an environment where compliance with internal controls and external regulatory framework is honored and central focus area of the business across multiple markets.
    • Engage with auditors when required to provide the required support.
    • Display exemplary conduct values by living the Group’s values and Code of Conduct.
    • Take personal responsibility by promoting the highest standard of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct across our footprint.
    • Identify, escalate and resolve any risk, conduct and compliance matters working closely with the Treasury Risk & control Manager

    Talent Management

    • Build a strong talent pipeline transparently, in line with diversity & inclusion KPIs and other KPIs in general with specific performance metrics on the Group values, Code of Conduct.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop sales teams across traditional and digital channels.
    • Build a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, and client‑centricity.
    • Drive succession planning and talent development across the region.
    • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in talent pipelines

     Qualifications

     EXPERIENCE

    • 12–15 years of experience in financial services, Treasury, Treasury Sales, or Digital Trading, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
    • Proven track record in driving sales growth across Corporate, SME, FI, and Retail segments.
    • Experience leading digital sales, e‑trading, fintech‑enabled platforms, or channel execution is highly desirable.
    • Strong experience working with African corporates, financial institutions, and cross‑border markets.
    • Demonstrated success in stakeholder management and complex client negotiations.
    • Advanced analytical and financial modelling capability (Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Experience managing multi‑country teams or regional responsibilities is an added advantage
    • Considering both local and non-local candidates with cross-market exposure (particularly within Africa)

    ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
    • Master’s degree (MBA) preferred but not mandatory.
    • Professional certification (CFA, FRM, ACCA, CA) strongly preferred.
    • ACI Dealing Certificate — mandatory requirement.
    • Certifications in digital innovation, fintech, product management, or data analytics are an added advantage
