Job Purpose
Health Delegate, Auxiliary Projectwill work in close collaboration with the IFRC Health and Care Department and Health and Care Team in Africa region, with a primary focus to help coordinate the strategic direction of HCF 2030 related to auxiliary role of Red Cross Red Crescent National Societies with public health authorities. The officer will liaise with National Society Development focal points and relevant IFRC departments and teams in the Africa region, and other relevant international stakeholders.
The officer will coordinate and provide technical support to National Societies to develop guidance and integrate training materials and will work with a multi-disciplinary team of IFRC Network volunteers and staff to support systematic and strategic engagement with public authorities. The overall purpose is to strengthen National Society’s auxiliary role around health and care. This position relates to the unique position of RCRC National Societies as principled actors working as auxiliary with public authorities. The position and project will be focused initially on the Africa region, but the learnings are likely to be globally transferable to other regions.
