Horticultural Supervisor at Summit Recruitment and Search

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day farm operations, including all aspects of horticulture and general farming.
• Develop and implement practices that ensure optimal returns through maintaining economic and environmental viability.
• Manage seed production operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and maintain proper farm records and accounts.
• Monitoring the Safety and Health measures undertaken by the farm, keeping track of the Safety and Health of workers and the staff, maintaining environmental biodiversity, and undertaking environmental protection activities if required.
• Train, supervise and assign duties to staff, such as cultivation, irrigation, harvesting, pruning, packaging, grading and equipment maintenance.
• Post-harvest processing including storage and packaging in preparation for sale.
• Ensure the farm activities comply with the government regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or related field.
• At least 5 years working experience in a busy agricultural field set up.
• Proven experience in seed management, plant breeding, or horticultural production.
• Strong understanding of horticultural practices and seed industry regulations.
• Ability to analyze data and market trends effectively.
• Able to work with people with different cultural backgrounds in a remote location.
• You MUST have a valid driving license with a motorbike endorsement and be proficient in riding.
