    Human Resources Officer

    Job Purpose 

    The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for establishing efficient and scalable HR processes in a fast-paced start-up environment. They should be a pragmatic, positive, engaging, and experienced HR professional who can handle challenging employee situations with sensitivity and empathy.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Collaborate with the People Operations team to support all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management
    • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
    • Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes
    • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
    • Support managers dealing with employee concerns and performance management processes
    • Support team members with challenges and issues as they develop in their roles with Amitruck
    • Build effective scalable HR systems, tactics, and metrics across the organization
    • Nurture a positive working environment
    • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
    • Manage the reward and benefit programs
    • Report to the leadership team and provide decision support through HR metrics
    • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management

    Experience Required 

    • Bachelor's degree in Human resource management or related field
    • At least 3 years of experience in a People Operations or HR role, preferably in a startup or tech environment
    • Strong understanding of local labor laws and regulations
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms. Experience with Google Workspace a plus
    • Fluency in English (Swahili a plus)
