    Internal Audit Interns

    Job summary:

    Reporting to the Principal Internal Auditor/Senior Internal Auditor the Graduate Intern is responsible for assisting the Principal Internal Auditor/Senior Auditor in performing individual internal audit projects, as part of the total internal audit plan. This responsibility includes developing internal audit scope, performing internal audit procedures, and preparing internal audit reports reflecting the results of the work performed.

    Key Responsibilities/Tasks/Duties:

    • Assist the Principal Internal Auditor/Senior Internal Auditor in the planning of new audit assignments including carrying out a walkthrough of the audit area, preparation of the planning memorandum and audit program.
    • Assist in undertaking audit tests in line with the audit program for the topic assigned by the supervisor and prepare neat working papers.
    • Assist the Principal Internal Auditor/Senior Internal Auditor in identification opportunities for controls improvement and make appropriate recommendations.
    • Assist the Principal Internal Auditor/Senior Internal Auditor in preparations of the draft report after concluding an audit exercise.
    • Participate in meetings with process owners to discuss audit observations and recommendations.
    • Participate in other departmental activities such Audit Quality Improvement program, budget preparation, asset verification and departmental meetings.
    • Support in Administrative duties.

    Minimum Qualifications /Educational/Professional Experience

    • Upper Second Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Information Technology
    • CPA (K) OR CIA. CISA will be an added advantage
    • Proficiency in computer applications;
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
