Internal Auditor at Nuclear Power Agency

• The position is responsible for reviewing the Agency’s business processes and evaluate the efficacy of risk management procedures and internal controls that are currently in place and recommend improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing the effectiveness of the existing internal control systems and procedures and making recommendations.
• Conducting risk-based audits.
• Preparing audit reports for presentation to the management and the audit committee of the Board and ensuring implementation of arising recommendations.
• Following up on implementation of recommendations from external auditors and Board’s audit committee.
• Conducting special audits and investigations.
• Carrying out audits on all Agency’s projects.
• Researching and conducing a preliminary evaluation of the Agency risk management process.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other relevant field from a recognized university;
• Be a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA.K); and
• Be a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in good standing.

Related Job Experience

Must have at least three (3) years relevant work experience.

• Meets the requirements of leadership and integrity set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution;
• Demonstrable knowledge of the Energy Sector in Kenya;
• Demonstrable knowledge of the Nuclear Power Programme;
• Demonstrate understanding of public Service Values;
• Be detail oriented, have ability to meet deadlines while delivering on high quality results.
