IT Expert – Biometric Identity System at Sight and Sound Limited

Key Responsibilities

System Administrator

• System Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
• End-to-end support of the biometric identity system, including field devices, data collection, and backend processing.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across hardware, software, and network layers.
• Ensure high availability and performance of the AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System).

Database Management:

• Administer and optimize Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and efficient biometric matching

Production Support:

• Collaborate with the local production team responsible for ID document manufacturing.
• Ensure seamless integration between biometric data and ID card production systems.

Customer Relationship & Communication:

• Act as the primary technical interface with the customer.
• Provide regular updates, incident reports, and performance metrics to the HQ team
• in France.
• Facilitate coordination between local operations and HQ directives.

Team Engagement & Leadership:

• Motivate and guide the local technical team.
• Promote best practices and ensure alignment with HQ standards.
• Foster a collaborative and proactive work environment.

Required Qualifications Education & Technical Skills:

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong background in systems, networks, databases, and cybersecurity.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Master Linux and Windows administration and Active Directory.
• Familiarity with biometric systems and AFIS platforms is a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years in IT operations or system integration.
• Experience in production environments, preferably in identity or document issuance.
• Proven track record of working in customer-facing roles.
