Lab Technician – Pharmacy at North Coast Medical Training College

• In its quest to strengthen the training team for Pharmacy and generally help support training of students, NCMTC is recruiting a Laboratory Technician to join the Pharmacy department in facilitating hands-on learning experiences for students. This includes conducting Lab sessions, handling laboratory equipment and machines, health and safety, training material development (laboratory chemical reagents).

Tasks and responsibility

• Liaise with trainers to prepare laboratory prior to skill sessions.
• Liaise with the Head of Chemistry and Pharmaceutics sections in conducting laboratory training sessions.
• Assist learners by providing guidance and instruction on the Preparation of laboratory chemical reagents, tools and machine equipment as well as demonstrating best practices for safe and efficient operation.
• Keep inventory of all Laboratory tools and equipment
• Instruct learners on Lab safety and ensure smooth operation of Lab activities.
• Collaborate with trainers to develop training materials and teaching aids such as manuals, instructional videos, and demonstrations to support hands-on learning and reinforce theoretical concepts.
• Prepare chemical reagents Organize equipment for laboratory training sessions.
• Participating in classroom training in both pharmaceutics and chemistry.

Required education and experience

• Minimum Diploma in Analytical chemistry.
• At least 3 years of experience in handling & managing a Lab.
• Conversant with national and international safety and regulatory issues
