Job Specifications

• An officer at this level will work under the supervision of a senior officer.
• Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:
• Implementing Standard Operating Procedures;
• Preparing Samples, solutions and reagents for testing;
• Assisting in setting up the necessary requirementsto perform Certificate Tests (PTs) and or Inter Laboratory Comparison (ILC) Tests
• Assigning column numbers after verification exercise -
• Performing Class A glassware verification process
• Carrying out performance verification on analytical equipment (weight checks on analytical balances, pH meter etc…)
• Implementing Biosafety and biosecurity framework in the laboratory.
• Implementing qualitymanagementsystem and risk strategies
• Cleaning of specialized equipment;
• Validating of cleaning processesincluding glassware, equipment and Biological analysis surfaces;
• Participating in Identification of Risksin the laboratory and mitigation measurers
• Participating in surveysincluding Post Market Surveillances of HPTs

Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

• Cumulative service period ofthree (3) years atthe grade of Laboratory Analyst II or in a comparable position;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in computer applications
