Laboratory Technologist - In Medical Laboratory Sciences (Microbiology & Pathology) at United States International University - USIU Africa

Reporting to the Chair, Pure and Biomedical Sciences department, School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the successful candidate will be expected to support learning activities in Microbiology and Pathology courses.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and conducting lab tests according to standard procedures.
• Supervising and assisting students during laboratory and research sessions.
• Ensuring student adherence to safety protocols while performing practicals.
• Management of laboratory supplies.
• Using, cleaning and maintaining various types of equipment.
• Segregate and dispose of laboratory waste appropriately.

Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree or Higher diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in a similar position in a research or higher learning Institution.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Experience in an accredited laboratory will be an added advantage.
• Excellent skills and competency in medical microbiology, clinical chemistry, and histopathology/cytology.
• Registration by relevant regulatory body (if applicable);
