Leakage Detection Operator - 3 Posts at Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited (NCWSC)

Job Purpose

• To minimize water losses across the supply network by detecting, monitoring, and facilitating timely repair of leaks, as well as identifying and addressing commercial losses such as illegal connections and bypasses. The role supports operational efficiency, accurate billing, and Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction initiatives

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF LEAK DETECTION/SCOUTING OPERATOR

• Carry out active surveys using acoustic and advanced leak detection technologies.
• Operate serviceable leak scouting and detection equipment and vans
• Undertake routine patrols, inspections, and monitoring of pipelines, valves, and fittings for signs of leakage.
• Monitor detected leaks to ensure timely repair.
• Undertake incidental pipe tracing, location and mapping
• Undertake incidental illegal connections and by-passes detection and pipe tracing requests
• Provide daily & periodic reports as required
• Any other duty as maybe assigned by supervisor

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certificate of Science or Technology or Engineering in civil engineering, water engineering or Instrumentation OR Trade Test II In plumbing or related field from a recognized learning Institution.
