    Learning Experience Designer

    About the Role
As a Learning Experience Designer you’ll play a hands-on role in:

    •  Knowledge capture (30%). This entails working with teams to document how things are done (SOPs, playbooks, processes). This responsibility will mainly lie with the functional leads but support is needed to guide the format in which knowledge is captured to ensure its usability.
    •  Learning design (70%). This entails taking the documented knowledge and turning it into actual training content (courses, videos, guides) that can be used by both internal staff and external stakeholders. This responsibility is 100% owned by the Learning Experience Designer. However it is important to note that the internal knowledge assets (SoPs, Playbooks etc) are an input into the learning design process, hence learning design cannot happen without the knowledge capture process.

The primary focus of this role is to strengthen internal operational learning, while leading the development of learning materials for F4E’s Centre of Excellence.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is excited to observe first-hand how the knowledge and learning assets they develop directly impact internal operations and support the launch of F4E’s Centre of Excellence.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • End-to-end Learning Experience Design: Apply learning science principles to develop knowledge artefacts and learning initiatives that enhance staff understanding and performance. This includes mapping stakeholder needs to ensure the artefacts developed meet the desired needs.
    • Content Creation: Develop clear, practical, accessible, and jargon-free content and course materials in various formats such as text, video and diagrams for staff of all levels that align with our objectives. This could entail development of ‘how-to’ content that can be used internally e.g playbooks and working with the Centre of Excellence team to develop curriculum for other organisations within the school feeding ecosystem or governments.
    • Learning Management System Selection & Management: Support the design and implementation of the LMS in collaboration with the tech and L&D team to ensure that the learning tool selected enhances the learning experience both for internal staff and external stakeholders.
    • Evaluation: Embedded Impact and Learning (EIL) feedback loops to continuously assess and improve course content and learning initiatives based on feedback and performance metrics.
    • Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to extract the relevant information needed to develop the desired knowledge and learning assets.

    Desired Qualities

    • At least 4 years experience in instructional design, experience design, or a related role, with proven experience in creating clear, practical, and engaging educational content and developing an educational program end-to-end.
    • Ability to develop learning content in multiple formats such as text, video, images, etc. to suit various learning styles.
    • Ability to design learning assessment artefacts.
    • Research capabilities and strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex processes.
    • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other relevant learning technologies.
    • Comfortable partnering with technology teams and excited about using digital tools to improve learning and operations.
    • Experience working in large organisations with field staff on-ground.
    • Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent organisational and analytical skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise, complete work accurately, meet deadlines, and follow through.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks.
    • Strong interpersonal skills such as ability to build trust and collaborate across teams.
    • Proactive, curious, and motivated by a strong sense of ownership.
    • Commitment to Food for Education’s mission and values.
