Legal and Governance Advisor at Old Mutual Kenya

Job Description

Reporting to the Regional Legal Counsel, the Legal & Governance Advisor provides corporate governance and in-house legal advisory services to the Group.

• Provision of corporate governance services including management of board matters
• Provision of in-house legal advisory services
• Provision of oversight and supervision over contracted external law firms
• Review and monitor group internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with statutory/legal requirements
• Carrying out legal research and preparation of legal opinions and reports
• Providing legal advice to various departments/business lines within the company 7. Participating in negotiations on commercial and business related matters
• Registration, protection/enforcement and monitoring use of intellectual property
• Providing legal support for HR/employment matters
• Providing legal advisory on corporate structuring transactions
• Advising, Tracking and reporting on corporate and debt financing transactions 12. Support for the implementation of stakeholder engagement plans across the Group in line with the Stakeholder Relations Policy
