Logistics Team Lead at Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Synchronize supply of goods with programming needs
2. Ensure quality and efficiency of processes in compliance with MEDS and donor regulations, and international and local inventory accountability standards and requirements
3. Manage the determination of logistics service requirements, desired specifications and delivery schedules, ensuring proper coordination and communication
4. Anticipate and identify potential or actual problems in the supply chain that may affect the short-term or long-term availability of individual goods and act to address those problems
5. Identify and assess transportation resources, storage facilities, leasing options, and any other logistics services
6. Maintain and oversee relationships with port operations, freight forwarders, customs clearing agents and key suppliers
7. Participate in coordination meetings to ensure planning and coordination of supply chain management activities
8. Plan and manage distribution chain from the port of arrival to beneficiary SDPs or disposal
9. Oversee and ensure proper execution of the dispatch plan
10. Work with programming staff to verify the dispatch plan’s adherence to the Distribution Plan
11. Work with Warehouse Team Lead to ensure efficient movement of goods.
12. Prepare reports on complete movements of goods

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 5 years experience in logistics management. Prior experience in the distribution of USAID health program orders will be an added advantage
• Business-related Degree and Diploma in Supply Chain Management
