    Manager: Compensation & Reward

    The Person:

    • Prudential Africa is looking for a person with experience of working in high growth frontier and emerging insurance markets. You will be based in the regional head office in Nairobi, Kenya.
    • You will be self-motivated, comfortable with significant ambiguity and prepared to apply your Reward expertise hands-on to small and large tasks as we strive to deliver our ambition.
    • You will need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

    Job Scope:

    • The job holder will report directly to the Director, Total Reward supporting all aspects of Reward in the Africa regional team.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    • Prepare monthly compensation and benefits reports as part of the overall HR reporting
    • Advise business and liaise with internal stakeholders on benefits issues
    • Support LBU HRDs in the People Review process
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of myHR (Workday) data in collaboration with the HRDS and myHR Team
    • People cost budgeting and control for ARH and consolidation of LBU budgets-annual budgets
    • Understand the benchmarking process and assist in ensuring consistency of benchmarking application. Contribute to benchmarking activities by supporting pay and benefits survey input and subsequent data analysis for decision making
    • Supervise monthly compensation and benefits invoicing (charge back) for LBUs and RHO and auditing to ensure reconciliation with payroll billing
    • Monthly Payroll processing including payroll reconciliations and preparation of payroll schedules
    • Partner with payroll vendors to ensure RHO & LBUS Compliance
    • Support the Global Mobility Team with Work Permit applications by coordinating the vendor activities

    Core Competences Required:

    • Demonstrable experience with Human resource metrics and analytics
    • Attention to detail and excellent data analytics skills
    • Excellent networks and knowledge of the market/competitor analysis
    • Broad knowledge of all aspects of the compensation and benefits portfolio, external vendors
    • Excellent listening, communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Proficient in MS Office suite
    • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
    • Good knowledge of Labour and income tax laws and reward best practices
    • Able to prioritise and manage complex reward projects and programmes independently
    • Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations considerately
    • Ability to coordinate and manage content across HR functional areas
    • Pro-active, customer focused and able to show initiative to constantly improve the reward offering to the business.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent from a leading University
    • Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management/CHRM from the Institute of Human Resource Management, Kenya, or equivalent
    • Be in good standing with the Institute of Human Resource Management (Kenya)
    • 5 years' experience with 3+ years working as a Reward Analyst preferably in a global organisation with a strong track record of delivering a broad range of reward initiatives in a complex environment.
    • Generalist HR experience beyond compensation and benefits would be advantageous
