Manager – Corporate Communications at Geothermal Development Company (GDC)

Job Description
Duties and responsibilities will entail: -

• Providing technical leadership to teams in the department to enable them to develop, implement and evaluate strategic management plans and budgets aimed at improving performance and meeting set targets.
• Coordinating departmental planning, budgeting and procurement plans.
• Facilitating capacity building of staff within the department
• Implementing the GDC brand promotion and public relations programs
• Developing communication strategies for the company
• Overseeing and managing external communication including public relations, event management, social media, and reputation management.
• Coordinating developing and disseminating information externally through various communications channels
• Oversee external customer experience.

Person Specifications

• A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant work experience four (4) of which must have been in a managerial role.
• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mass Media, Journalism, Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Public relations, Community Development, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mass Media, Journalism, Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Public relations, Community Development, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks (cumulative).
• Membership of PRSK, MSK any relevant professional body/institute.
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
