Manager, Energy Efficiency at Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA)

• Formulating and implementation of regulations on energy efficiency;
• Leading research on energy efficiency in the country;
• Leading in the carrying out of energy efficiency technical audits;
• Monitoring and evaluating the performance of energy auditors as per the prescribed energy audit procedures;
• Preparing energy audit reports and follow up on implementation of recommendations;
• Evaluating submitted energy audit reports and energy management
• implementation reports;
• Following up on implementation of recommendations of energy audits by facilities;
• Supervising collection, analysis, reporting and maintenance of energy efficiency;
• Preparing position papers and briefs on regulation compliance, inspection and
• implementation of appliance energy performance and labelling projects for the
• Director Electricity and Renewable Energy and EPRA management;
• Preparing and presenting of papers for conferences, seminars and workshops;
• Supervising staff in the department including completing performance appraisals,
• personal development and succession plans effectively, and on time in accordance with the established performance management system;
• Representing EPRA in stakeholder meetings on energy efficiency issues when required;
• Participating in designated Committees;
• Preparing of Section Budgets;
• Developing of Section Procurement Plans; and
• Energy Performance and Labelling.

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience of at least eight (8) years, three (3) of which must be in supervisory role;
• A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following engineering fields; Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Master’s degree in any of the following engineering fields; Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution or equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Membership of the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) in good standing or Kenya’s Engineering Technologists and Technicians Registration Board (ETTRB) in good standing;
• Attended management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks, from a recognized institution;
• Proficiency in Computer applications skills;
• Demonstrated results in work performance; and
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
