Duties and Responsibilities

• Participating in investigation of the structure and evolution of the earth and its natural resources;
• Participating in planning programs for exploration of sites;
• Participating in surveying and mapping/identification of geologically promising sites;
• Participating in analyzing geological data using specialist computer applications;
• Participating in ascertaining extraction risks;
• Participating in the development of technical solutions to enhance project execution efficiency;
• Ensuring quality control, monitoring, and interpreting geophysical data;
• Providing updates on technical matters and helping manage expectations;
• Supporting Field Engineers in recommending ways to acquire the best exploration data;
• Participating in scientific studies, visit field locations, and collection of rocksamples;
• Participating in analyzing and interpretation of the age, nature and components of rock, soil and other samples;
• Participating in conducting sample rock tests and checks;
• Participating in generation of geochemical models, and mapping/identification of specific areas for research and analysis;
• Providing geochemistry support for well operations; and
• Developing exploration and production strategies

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum
• Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology or equivalent qualification from a recognized university;
• A Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Chemical Engineering,
• Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum
• Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology or equivalent qualification from a recognized university;
• Membership in good standing of a relevant professional body;
• Demonstration of results in work performance;
• Proficiency in computer applications skills; and
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
