    Materials Supervisor

    The Materials Supervisor – Spares Inventory is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the inventory of aircraft spare parts for Jambojet’s fleet. The role ensures cost-effective, timely, and compliant support to maintenance operations while aligning with the operational needs of a low-cost carrier. The role holder supervises spares warehousing, handling, and issuance to maintenance workstations, ensuring compliance with KCAA requirements, Civil Aviation Regulations, and company policies. The position leads a team to ensure stock optimization, traceability, and availability of critical components with minimal excess or obsolescence.

    Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    • Supervise day-to-day inventory management activities for Jambojet spare parts.
    • Monitor stock levels, consumption rates, and lead times to maintain optimal inventory.
    • Coordinate with Maintenance Planning, Engineering, Procurement, and Line Maintenance to ensure timely parts availability.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality assurance requirements, including traceability, shelf-life, and certification.
    • Manage AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support, ensuring prompt resolution to minimize operational disruption.
    • Generate and analyse reports on stock levels, usage trends, stockouts, and aging inventory.
    • Implement strategies to reduce holding costs and minimize waste.
    • Coordinate with logistics providers and vendors on shipments and customs clearance.
    • Conduct periodic stock audits and support regulatory/internal audits.
    • Lead, train, and supervise spares personnel to maintain high operational standards.
    • Know-How
    • Knowledge of aviation spares inventory management systems (e.g., OASES).
    • Strong understanding of aviation regulations (KCAA, EASA, FAA).
    • Proficiency in inventory control, logistics, and supply chain principles.
    • Supervisory experience managing spares and logistics teams.
    • Ability to coordinate with internal departments and external vendors.
    • Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, procurement, and linemaintenance functions.
    • Leadership and training of team members to maintain compliance and efficiency.

    • Impact of Decisions: Decisions directly affect aircraft availability, regulatory compliance, andoperational costs.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Aviation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation spares inventory management, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
    • Hands-on experience in managing aircraft spare parts.
    • Proficiency with aviation inventory management systems (e.g., OASES).
    • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Experience in a low-cost carrier or regional airline.
    • Familiarity with lean/JIT inventory practices.
    • Supply chain certification (CIPS, APICS, CPSPK) is an advantage.
