    Media Relations Manager

    Responsibilities And Tasks

    • Create and execute an integrated media strategy for WomenLift Health that supports the organization’s objectives and drives engagement with key audiences.
    • Cultivate and enhance a collaborative working relationship within the press and publicity community.
    • Collaborate with country/regional counterparts as the program rolls out geographically to optimize contextual impact while telling a consistent and compelling global narrative for media pitches.
    • Provide strategic and insightful recommendations to our various hubs related to media coverage of complex, high profile public health topics.
    • Develop communication materials in support of new or expanding programs, campaigns and initiatives, including press releases, talking points, messaging frames, media advisories, toolkits and other communication products.
    • Identify and facilitate new content opportunities, exploring ways to repurpose existing content in the WomenLift Health repository to position the brand’s thought leadership.
    • Generate fresh, creative ideas for initiatives and campaigns across media channels, and work with cross regional teams and agency to execute on them.
    • Drive participation in WomenLift Health-hosted events through proactive media pitching and promotional strategies.
    • Proactively support in pitching story ideas, including op-eds and interviews, to media and ensure coverage.
    • Ability to track media coverage.

    Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Ability

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or other related field.
    • 7+ years of full-time media relations experience, preferably in an area related to gender equality, women’s leadership and/or global health.
    • Experience leading media engagement initiatives.
    • A highly strategic and innovative leader who is self-motivated and seeks and identifies opportunities to advance WomenLift Health’s goals.
    • Ability to manage through ambiguity, establish process and structure to help the team operate more effectively and efficiently.
    • Superb writing and editing skills with rigorous attention to detail.
    • Crisis management experience.
    • Excellent project management skills.
    • Highly organized and a critical, creative thinker under pressure
    • Proactive, self-starter able to work independently.
    • An ability to cultivate team members and effectively collaborate with team members and external partners.
    • Proven ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment that requires initiative, flexibility, ingenuity, resilience and commitment.
    • May require up to 15% travel.

    Valued And Non-Essential Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Ability

    • Additional languages are a plus but not required.
