Mid Apigee X Developer (AI) at Abacus

Role Summary

• The Mid AI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting AI-powered applications and intelligent automation solutions that solve business problems and enhance digital products. The role focuses on building scalable AI solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and cloud technologies, while securely exposing and integrating AI services through Google Apigee X. The incumbent works closely with architects, software engineers, data engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications and intelligent automation solutions.
• Build and integrate Generative AI, LLM, RAG, and AI agent capabilities into enterprise systems.
• Design and develop secure APIs using Google Apigee X to expose AI services and enterprise capabilities.
• Integrate AI models, enterprise applications, and cloud services using RESTful APIs and Apigee X.
• Develop prompt engineering, AI orchestration, and workflow automation solutions.
• Implement API security using OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, rate limiting, quotas, and threat protection policies.
• Develop, test, optimise, and maintain AI-enabled applications and reusable API components.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI applications and API deployments.
• Monitor AI application performance, API health, and production environments, resolving issues and optimising performance.
• Contribute to AI governance, API standards, security best practices, and reusable development frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and business-focused AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years' software development experience, including experience developing AI-enabled applications.
• Hands-on experience with Google Apigee X and API development.
• Experience with Python, REST APIs, cloud platforms, CI/CD, and Agile delivery.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, AI orchestration frameworks, and cloud AI services is highly advantageous.

Key Technical Skills

• Typescript, Google Apigee X, REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, LangChain or similar AI frameworks, OpenAI APIs, Google
• Vertex AI, Azure AI or AWS AI services, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, AI agents, OAuth2, JWT, Git, Docker, CI/CD, vector databases, SQL/NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms (GCP/Azure/AWS).
