    Network Administrator & Audio/Visual Technician

    The Role

    • The School is seeking to appoint a Network Administrator & Audio/Visual Technician who will be responsible to the IT Manager for the maintenance and administration of computing environments including computer hardware, software & audio/visual equipment and all configurations across the whole school.   The Network Administrator & Audio/Visual Technician reports to the IT Manager in the day to day operations.

    Responsibilities

    The overarching responsibilities of the Network Administrator & Audio/Visual Technician include:

    • Maintenance and administration of computing environment both hardware & software
    • Setup, implementation & maintenance of PA systems (Audio/Visual & Lighting Equipment)
    • Providing IT support

    Duties

    • The principal duties of the Network Administrator & Audio/Visual Technician are to:

    Maintain & perform administrative duties in the computing environment

    • Computing environment administration and maintenance
    • Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting
    • Network Security
    • Network Administration
    • Collaboration and Communication

    Setup, implementation & maintenance of PA systems (Audio/Visual & Lighting Equipment)

    • Equipment Setup and Operation
    •  Technical Troubleshooting and Maintenance
    • Event Planning and Coordination:
    • Equipment Inventory
    • Safety and Compliance

    Providing IT support

    • Being on Helpdesk and support duties during the designated shifts.
    • Attending to Helpdesk and support calls to provide required assistance to users.
    • Responding to user queries.
    • Performing other duties as requested from time to time

    Person Specification

    • Working at St Andrew’s Turi, is an exciting and dynamic experience.  We look to recruit committed and resourceful staff, who are looking to not only develop their skills and leadership capacities, but also embrace new experiences and challenges.  There are some things that are essential to working with us.  The successful candidate will need to be able to support the School’s aims and Christian ethos.  They will have to have a degree in Information Technology or related field and/or hold a certificate in Audio Visual techniques. 
    • Beyond that we want to have staff who love working as part of a team, who are first-class communicators and who are passionate about their who are creative and diligent in their planning; who are adaptable, energetic and resilient.  Experience of working in a School environment,  would be desirable, but not essential.  Above all, what matters is a commitment to help us provide a world-class education for our children.

    Knowledge & Experience

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or related field of study.
    • Working experience in busy environment, School related experience is desirable but not essential
    • Strong understanding of Computer Network Infrastructure
    • Ability to implement, administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices
    • Knowledge of audio-visual operating systems, hardware and software
    • Conversant with cameras & lighting techniques and know how to use software & editing equipment

    Experience

    • At least two to three year experience in a busy IT environment
    • Ability to configure, operate and trouble shoot audio visual equipment
    • Experience of network systems, hardware and software

    Skills

    • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
    • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions
    •  Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
    • Good analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work with all all levels of IT Staff, and fellow colleagues inside and outside the organization.
