Network & Analytics Engineer at Sheer Logic

Job Purpose

Manage, support & operate network systems used by our client in the Telecommunictions industry. Develop company networks, coordinate with EUS team to identify network needs and provide assistance to employees and other individuals on how to use the network effectively.

Responsibilities

• Owning incidents, tracking and updating all stakeholders including escalations
• Implementing disaster recovery procedures for network elements
• Daily/Weekly/Monthly Internal meeting with stakeholder
• Maintaining computer networks including routers, VPNs, switches and other physical hardware
• Installing and configuring network equipments
• Managing firewalls policies and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected
• Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems
• Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
• Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
• Ensure execution of audit/RA recommendations.
• Enforce compliance with all IT processes and business-related processes

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science and other related disciplines
• Professional Qualification in Networks Added Advantage
• Working Experience: 1-3 years in IT network role preferably within the Telecoms industry.
• Experience in Implementation and operation of Network systems in multiple business units/customers experience on managing diverse and complex platforms and environments
• Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and BGP
• In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and printers, monitoring tools like solar winds.
• Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
• Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure like Meraki
• Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
• Ability to present well researched proposals confidently to senior business executives
• Experience in building business cases on products and governance processes.
