    Nutrition Officer (Roster)

    Role objectives    

    • Program implementation:
    • Support implementation of CMAM (Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition) & IMAM (Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition) services in line with national & international protocols.
    • Supervise screening & referral of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) & Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) cases using Mid Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) & other indicators.
    • Coordinate Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programs (BSFP) & Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programs (TSFP) at facility & community levels.
    • Support IYCF (Infant & Young Child Feeding) counselling & behaviour change communication activities.
    • Capacity building & coordination:
    • Train & mentor Community Health Workers (CHWs), partner staff & volunteers on nutrition protocols.
    • Participate in nutrition coordination forums & working groups as required.
    • Liaise with health, protection, food security & education actors to ensure integrated programming.
    • Monitoring, data & reporting:
    • Support collection & analysis of nutrition data using tools such as KOBO, DHIS2, Excel & SMART survey outputs.
    • Contribute to situation reports, donor reports & internal performance monitoring.
    • Ensure that gender, protection, inclusion & Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) are integrated into monitoring & feedback mechanisms.
    • Project reporting    
    • This role reports to the line manager.

    Key competencies    

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, public health, food science or a related field.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in nutrition programming in humanitarian or low resource settings, opportunities also exists for more senior candidates.
    • Demonstrated experience with CMAM, IMAM & IYCF implementation.
