Nutrition Tutor at North Coast Medical Training College

Tasks and responsibility

• Participate in the training and assessment of learning of students during COBES including:
• Preparing and uploading lesson plans and related teaching and learning and assessment materials for learning at community level 
• Conducting community simulations with students
• Guiding and coaching students during community attachments
• Assessing students’ performance
• Mentor, guide and advice students in their learning and development of professional behaviour 
• Contribute to other activities related to community-based training and nutrition care and training.
• In collaboration with senior trainers, evaluate student performance

Required competencies

• Competent nutritionist with up-to-date knowledge and good technical and generic skills in nutrition in general and community nutrition specifically 
• Exhibit intercultural sensitivity, appreciation and tolerance
• Interest in training and mentoring young healthcare professionals
• Good communicator both individually and with groups
• Good written and oral language skills: English and Swahili. 
• Good computer skills with good mastery of MS office applications
• Good team player.

Required education and experience 

• Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
• 2 years’ experience in providing health care services
• Registered and in good standing with KNDI
