QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirement for Appointment:-

• Diploma in any of the following disciplines:- Optometry, Optometry Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Shown merit as reflected in work performance and results; and
• Proficiency in computer application skills.

Duties and Responsibilities: -

• Implement patient treatment plan;
• Assess the refractive status of the eye;
• Glaze and fit spectacles;
• Capture patient’s bio data;
• Take history of patients;
• Make general patient observations for diagnostic purposes and treatment;
• Obtain patient informed consent before offering any treatment;
• Follow up on patient’s treatment and progress;
• Collect optometry clinical data;
• Collect information on ophthalmic/optical equipment and appliances;
• Take stock of inventory in the optical shop;
• Prepare briefs and monthly reports.
