DEPARTMENT OF ORTHOPEDIC TECHNOLOGISTS

Requirements for Appointment

• Served in the grade of Orthopaedic Technologist II for at least three (3) years;
• Have shown considerable initiative, competence and efficiency in planning, organizing and discharging duties at the level of Orthopaedic Technologist II;
• Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in computer applications skills from a recognized institution; and
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and responsibilities 

• Management of orthopaedic supportive services in a health facility
• Planning, supervising and coordinating supportive services in orthopaedics in a health unit as well as allocation of duties and distribution of staff to various sections;
• Ensure availability of supplies and equipment; 
• Work may include training, counselling and guiding students; and
• Participating in curriculum developments, implementation and evaluation as well as recruitment of candidates for training.
