Plumbing Intern – CHP Talek Health Centre at The Maa Trust

POSITION SUMMARY

• The Plumbing Intern will assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures to ensure uninterrupted water supply, proper sanitation and a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with routine plumbing installation, repairs, maintenance and troubleshonting within the facility.
• Support general maintenance works, including a wide range of tasks such as minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, fittings, doors, windows, furniture, and other facility infrastructure.
• Assist with basic electrical, carpentry, painting, masonry, drainage and other maintenance tasks within the intern's level of competence and under appropriate supervision.
• Conduct routine inspections and promptly report maintenance defects, leaks, faults or safety concerns.
• Support preventive maintenance activities to keep the facility, equipment and infrastructure in good working condition.
• Assist with maintaining basic records of maintenance activities, materials used and repairs undertaken.
• Unblock toilets, sinks, drain lines and other plumbing systems to ensure proper flow and hygiene.
• Observe all workplace health, safety, infection prevention and facility procedures.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Biomedical Engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certificate in Plumbing or Diploma in Plumbing from a recognized institution.
