Collaborate with the Sales team to understand customer requirements, business objectives, and technical constraints.
Design and architect end-to-end technical solutions leveraging Safaricom’s full product portfolio.
Provide subject-matter expertise across Connectivity, Cloud & Hosting, IoT, Cybersecurity, Unified Communications, and Digital Services (including M-PESA APIs).
Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including solution designs, architecture diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
Lead pre-sales engagements by delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, and client workshops.
Drive high-quality responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
Conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs) and pilot deployments to validate and optimize proposed solutions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with enterprise customers, offering strategic technical guidance and best practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Project Management teams to provide customer insights and influence product roadmaps.
Mentor and upskill Sales teams on technical aspects of Safaricom’s solutions while maintaining updated technical sales collateral.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of proven experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or systems engineering role, preferably within a telecommunications, MSP, or technology vendor environment.
Strong understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, LAN/WAN, SD-WAN) and telecommunications infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with at least two of the following domains: Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Cybersecurity, IoT platforms, or Unified Communications.
Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of Agile practices and methodology
Professional certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, CEH, CISSP, or similar.
Experience with API integration and a basic understanding of software development principles.
Knowledge of the Kenyan and East African enterprise technology landscape.
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
