Principal Planning and Strategy Officer at National Council for Children’s Services

 Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities entail: -

• Carrying out research and translate research findings to policy briefs to inform improvement of services;
•  Initiating development of policies and codes of conduct to regulate good practice relating to child protection and child welfare;
•  preparation and implementation of the Council’s performance contract;
• Participating in the preparation of Medium-Term Expenditure Frameworks, Medium Term Plans and other related assignments in the Annual Government Budgeting cycles;
• Coordinating policy advocacy initiatives of the Council;

 Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

• At least nine (9) years’ work experience three (3) of which must be at the grade of Senior planning and strategy officer or in a comparable position;
• Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Strategic Management, Business Development, Development Studies, and Business Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
• Membership to a relevant professional body;
•  A Management Course lasting not less than Four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; and
•  Proficiency in computer applications.
