    Principal Training and Capacity Building Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:

    1. Advising management and initiating the development of policies and strategies with regards to training and capacity building;
    2. Providing overall guidance in the identification of institutions and recommending for partnership and collaboration to management;
    3. Ensuring development of training modules, materials and demonstration models for effective delivery of training;
    4. Ensuring development of annual training schedule for stakeholder engagement;
    5. Coordinate the planning and effective execution of advertisement and stakeholder engagement programs for the uptake of training packages;
    6. Ensuring preparation of training curriculum policies and strategies;
    7. Establishing trainer development programs;
    8. Coordinating training delivery and feedback mechanisms to enhance improvement;
    9. Ensuring development and maintenance of an updated database of trainees, trainers, resource personnel and facilitators;
    10. Overseeing the development of e-learning modules for self administered or instructor-led training;
    11. Ensuring the development and maintenance of a database of examination questions for various conformity assessment areas;
    12. Ensuring the registration and licenses with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) for KENAS training service provision; and
    13. Overseeing the development of a mechanism for periodic review and updating of training materials.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    1. At least six (6) years’ relevant work experience in Public Service or Private Sector, three (3) of which must be in a supervisory position;
    2. Bachelors Degree in Education, or any other degree with a Training of Trainers Certificate from recognized institutions or experience in training;
    3. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    4. Professional qualification and membership where applicable and in good standing;
    5. Demonstrated results in work experience;
    6. Proficiency in computer applications; and
    7. Fulfil the requirement of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.

    • Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
    • Clearance Certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
