    Procurement Assistant

    Ariya’s team is comprised of financial and technical experts with many years’ experience running large and medium sized organisations. Still, the task ahead is as difficult as it is large. We strive to deliver the energy revolution in East Africa. We work primarily with established industry and solve their main problems: Expensive Power, Poor Power Quality and Frequent Power Outages. For the country, we tackle climate change through reducing fossil fuel consumption and the devastating effects on local forests through communities and industries using forests for fuel.

    Job Responsibilities

    As the Procurement Assistant, you will work with our Kenya based team to fulfil the company vision.

    Main Tasks

    1. Assist the Procurement Manager in delivering multiple project support activities in line with agreed standards and objectives, given tight deadlines and competing demands and priorities.
    2. Assist in the implementation of strategies to build organizational capability in procurement, given the emerging changes in supply chain environment that need to be taken into account in many procurement decisions.
    3. Provide assistance to procurement team throughout the procurement process to ensure quality delivery of business services.
    4. Maintain updated records of stock materials and liaise with warehouse staff to ensure products are issued as requested before purchase
    5. Assist in conducting market research to identify pricing trends
    6. Any other relevant duties as assigned from time to time

    Required Qualifications

    Skills and Knowledge:

    1. Commercial awareness
    2. Good knowledge of procurement, key drivers and key success factors
    3. Excellent communication skill
    4. Strong computer skills in MS word and Excel
    5. Knowledge of market research
    6. Solid organizational skills

    Education and Experience:

    1. At least a graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply or its equivalent;
    2. Work experience as a Procurement Assistant or similar role
    3. Good understanding of supply chain procedures
    4. Hands-on experience with purchasing software

    Duration: 6 months initial with extension based on performance

    Duty station: Ariya Office, Nairobi, Kenya

    Reports to: Procurement Manager
