Production Shift Supervisor at Workforce Africa

Our client a leading energy and environmental solutions company whose core business is providing heating, cooling, water and waste management and speciality in chemicals seeks to recruit a Shift Supervisor to coordinate daily operations, makes sure that all s operations run smoothly, responds to inquiries and complaints, balances drawers and accounts and the end of a shift, and reports to middle or upper management with any ongoing issues or problems

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assign staff members to shifts including working hours and days
• Assign tasks to staff members
• Supervise staff to ensure tasks are completed in time and in a standard manner
• Order materials needed for production
• Resolve workplace disputes amicably
• Evaluate staff performance and recommend training where necessary to boost employee efficiency and effectiveness
• Responds quickly and practically to emergencies, crisises and unexpected problems during a shift
• Monitor employee work habits and ensures tasks are completed within the stipulated timeframe
• Ensure inventory is accounted for at all timed
• Processes paper work for HR an upper management as required and expected
• Any other duty to be assigned by management

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 3-4 years of proven experience in a supervisory or related role in manufacturing industry
• Good communication skills; written and verbal
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to solve complex problems while multitasking
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Well versed with health and safety protocols
