Deliverables
Contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in the area of Ending Violence Against Women and Girls
- Provide technical inputs to the design and formulation of programme/ project proposals and initiatives related to Ending Violence Against Women and Girls
- Draft inputs to country strategy documents, briefs, policy dialogue and other documents related to EVAWG.
- Contribute to ongoing review of bills, laws and policies on EVAWG to ensure conformity with global norms and standards.
Provide technical support to the implementation and management of the Programme on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls
- Support the day-to-day implementation of the EVAWG Annual Work Plan in close collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
- Provide technical inputs into ongoing activities related to EVAWG, particularly on women’s access to justice, prevention, and response to GBV.
- Review implementing partner (IP) workplans, budgets, and reports to ensure alignment with programme objectives.
- Support quality assurance of deliverables and documentation from partners.
Provide technical assistance and capacity development support to project/programme partners
- Maintain relationships with national partners to support implementation and expansion of the EVAWG programme.
- Identify emerging needs and provide technical advice
- Coordinate the technical assistance, mentoring, training and capacity development initiatives for partners.
Provide technical inputs to the monitoring and reporting of the programme/ project
- Monitor programme/ project implementation and finances using results-based management tools working closely with M&E colleagues.
- Conduct field missions, spot checks and review reports on monitoring missions to ensure effective implementation of recommendations.
- Contribute substantively to drafting high-quality, results-based, internal, and external reports.
Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies
- Support in finalizing relevant documentation on donors and potential opportunities for resource mobilization.
- Analyze and research information on donors, prepare substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation, and opportunities for cost sharing.
- Prepare relevant documentation such as project summaries, conference papers, briefing notes, speeches, and donor profiles.
Provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts
- Support documentation of lessons learned, promising practices, and success stories from EVAWG interventions.
- Coordinate and support the organization of advocacy activities and campaigns events, trainings, workshops and knowledge products.
Provide technical inputs to inter-agency coordination on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners in Kenya
- Provide technical support to the Programme Team Leader on inter-agency coordination related activities by providing inputs to background reports, briefs, and participating in technical working groups/committees as needed.
- Provide technical support to the Representative and Deputy Representative on inter-agency coordination related activities by providing inputs to background reports and briefs.
Consultant’s Workplace and Official Travel
- This is an office-based consultancy.
- As part of this assignment, there will be occasional travel within Kenya.

Recruitment Qualifications
Education and certification:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Law, Access to justice, social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field is required
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience at the national or international level in design, planning, implementation, monitoring, results-based reporting and evaluation of development projects;
- Technical experience in Ending Violence Against Women and Girls, with special expertise in women access to justice
- Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is an asset;
- Experience working in the UN System is an asset;
- Experience in leading a team is an asse
