Project Assistant – Wash - Lodwar at Practical Action Kenya

Practical Action seeks to recruit a Project Assistant – WASH to be based in our Lodwar field office. The post holder will have the primary responsibility for the design, implementation, follow-up, and evaluation of hygiene promotion and CLTS (community-led total sanitation), activities in Kalokol area in Turkana central sub county. In addition, the post holder will provide necessary support to the team to implement all activities of WASH projects.

To be successful in the role, you will:

• Have a bachelor’s degree, or Diploma in Civil, Water Resources Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• A public health-related degree or Diploma in Public health/community nursing/community health/health promotion with experience in handling technical projects
• At least one year of experience working in a similar capacity
• Ability to facilitate community programs to raise awareness of hygiene (male and female campaigns)
• Plan and lead training sessions for communities
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS, ArcGIS and Google Earth and experience working in Turkana County is desirable.
