    Project Manager

    The Project Manager will support the project team in the execution of construction projects. Further, he or she will carry out Project Management, Project Contract Management, Project QA & QS, construction administrative functions, and support the project team in the execution and coordination under the supervision of the project engineer.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Coordinate Project Management activities, resources, equipment, and information.
    • Liaise with clients to identify and define the requirements, scope, and objectives on the project.
    • Project planning reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
    • Preparation of project bills of quantities, monitoring of BOQ and preparing monthly variations.
    • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
    • Project scheduling and Procurement planning to prepare the master procurement plan with a project cost estimate.
    • Deal with the logistics of supplies, schedule the sequence of works and plans for construction, and account for the provision of materials.
    • Handle project administration, including cost control, schedule control, and change order administration.
    • Accomplishes construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders.
    • Procure/engage and agree on the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.
    • Review the work done by sub-contractors for piece rate works and special sub-contractors for back-to-back works and prepare the bills to be signed before they are paid.
    • Formulating contractual claims and/or responses to claims from subcontractors or employers
    • Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes, Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
    • Establish & maintain high staff morale, and model sound leadership and teamwork. Make suggestions and recommendations for repair.
    • Correspond with consultants and Project Manager regarding all contract discrepancies or adjustments as required, ensuring any specialty materials are ordered in advance in order to meet deadlines
    • Collaborates with the Project Lead/Engineer and other operational support to develop an accurate project plan.
    • Assist and coordinate in preparing tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and analyzing costs for tenders and contracts.
    • Analyze risks and opportunities while advising the management and the client on the best option.
    • Develop work programs on the basis of amended plans, cash flow charts, weekly material consumption graphs, and any other working methods.
    • Issue all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g. contracts and terms of the agreement) while ensuring statutory compliance during all phases of the projects
    • Compiles daily job cost reports to ensure the cost and quantity align with the budget Create project schedules that include materials estimates and manpower needs to be shared with the management.
    • Advise management of deficiency investigation results, provide prevention solutions and ensure compliance of policies to eliminate all deficiencies
    • Obliged to diligently devote time to work, be honest, faithful, strictly maintain company confidentiality, be loyal & dependable and have a positive attitude towards work.

    Qualifications                                                                         

    • BSc in Civil / Structural Engineering/ Building and Construction(ERB registration an asset)
    • Minimum 5 years working experience as a Project Coordinator
    • Computer competency (MS Office Applications)
    • A thorough technical understanding of building construction methods
    • Excellent command of oral and written English and Kiswahili
