Reporting to Assistant Manager, Monitoring & Evaluation, the job holder is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities: -

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitoring projects/studies progress in terms of payments and other costs/expenditure including project administration costs.
• Analysing projects costing performance.
• Participating in assessment of contract variations.
• Tracking project payments processes and other projects documents.
• Preparing projects expenditure report for reporting.
• Participating in periodical appraisal and incorporating lessons learnt from previous projects.
• Reviewing Contractors Statements for conformity with contract provisions and Bill of Quantities and Schedule of Prices.
• Maintaining an updated log detailing the financing mix for projects.
• Participating in valuation of works.
• Participating in preparation and compilation of Departmental Budget as per the Guidelines.
• Participating in preparation of Projects Final accounts and completion reports.
• Participating in preparation and updating of financial risks in all projects.
• Participating in implementation of standardized process templates (payment certificate, payment memo, progress report, final accounts, scoring matrix).
• Loading and distributing projects Budget in the project structure.
• Creating projects and projects definitions in the WBS structure.
• Creating Appropriation Requests, Purchase Requisition and Service Entry sheets for processing of Projects payments.
• Raising Capital works authority for projects budget release
• Raising Service Entry sheets for processing of Projects payments.
• Preparing project costing report.

Person Specifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Project Management from a recognized institution or any other relevant equivalent qualification.
• Exposure in relevant work experience in a Project Management Environment will be added advantage.
• Minimum of Graduate Registration with a relevant professional body.
• Certified Public Accountants (CPA-K)  or relevant professional certification in the field of  Project Management Certification.
• Masters degree in Finance or Project Management will be an added advantage
• Working knowledge of SAP system.
• Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of Constitution of Kenya
