    Trans Nzoia County is among the 47 counties established by the Kenya Constitution under article 6(1) and specified in the First Schedule. Article 176 (1) establishes a county government for each county consisting of the county assembly and the county executive. The Trans Nzoia county government was operationalized in March 2013 after the country’s general election with H.E Hon. Patrick Simiyu Khaemba as the first popularly elected Governor.

    Public Communications Officer (2 Positions)

    PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER[2], JOB GRADE CPSB 9 JG ‘J’ – TWO (2 POSTS) Advert No. 61/2021/2022

    Duties and Responsibilities

    This will be the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail: assisting in building corporate relations; developing content on topical issues for uploading onto institutional websites, Information Education Communication (IEC) materials and undertaking media monitoring; assisting in the preparation of media reviews, briefs, press releases/statements andsupplements; maintaining public relations records and documents; and participating in event organization.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Mass Communications, Public Relations, Communications Studies, Media Studies from a recognized institution; OR Bachelor’s Degree Certificate in computer application skills; and
    • Certificate of membership to a professional body from a recognized institution.
