Key responsibilities

Inspection and Testing:

• Conduct inspections of electrical systems, installations, and components at various project stages to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Perform testing of electrical systems, including grounding, insulation resistance, continuity, and functional tests.
• Verify the proper installation of cables, conduits, switches, and other electrical devices.

Documentation:

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and material submittals for compliance with project requirements.
• Maintain detailed inspection records, test reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Ensure all inspection documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.

Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure all electrical works comply with applicable codes (e.g., NEC, IEC) and standards (e.g., IEEE, BS).
• Monitor adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to electrical works.

Coordination:

• Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and engineers to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
• Participate in pre-installation meetings to clarify quality expectations and inspection criteria.

Non-Conformance Management:

• Identify and document deviations from approved designs or standards.
• Recommend corrective actions and ensure implementation to resolve non-conformities.

Continuous Improvement:

• Provide input on improving QC processes and practices for electrical works.
• Conduct quality awareness sessions for contractors and project staff to promote compliance.

HSEQ

• Follow HSEQ Procedure at all times

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Min. 8 Year Experience in Power Plants or Oil & Gas Industry
• Literate in MS-office, AutoCAD
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Swahili
• Able to interpret Standards and Codes Related to Power Plant Construction
• Ability to prepare handover package documents as per requirement
• Ability to prepare punch points for incomplete works and monitor them
