    Re - Advertisement - Programme Manager

    About the role

    To provide oversight and leadership in embedding a culture of strong programme delivery and impact in the Kenya programme, which enables the growth of our programmes and sharpens Christian Aid’s contribution to eradicating poverty in an increasingly restricted funding context. In addition, the role manages large partner portfolio and projects/programmes within the Kenya programme and within a strategic and policy framework agreed with the Country Manager.

    This role will support the Country Manager in managing the programme team by providing oversight and technical input that ensures programmes staff and partners effectively design, develop, plan, budget, implement, evidence, learn and communicate the impact from interventions within the programme and provide appropriate support and capacity building for partners. (40%)

    To engage with donor reporting and communications teams and ensure evidence-based reporting and communication products are developed through planning, drafting, proof-reading, fact-checking and cite-checking programme documents as needed. The role will review and sign off any external communication products before they are shared externally (30%)

    Active participation and support to fundraising including from institutional donors. To ensure a strong link exists between our programme and advocacy and provide representation for programme and on country issues. Liaison and networking with donors DFID, EC, AUSAID, USAID and others, and to lead in all ACT Alliance intiatives/networking. (20%)

    Personal development through learning, training, conference, workshops, publications 10%

    About you

    The role works within the International Programme role family and is positioned in Kenya Country Programme management team. The role is key in managing partner portfolios and ensuring quality and excellence in projects' design and delivery. The role has the overall responsibility for programme/project delivery and quality control, donor reporting and compliance, support in proposal development and convening regular programme review and reflection sessions and partners consortia. The role may be required to travel occasionally
