    Risk Consultant - Business Development

    About the Job

    Achieving Zamara’s ambitious strategic priorities will be complex and challenging. Its continued success will be dependent on building and retaining a world-class team. The Risk Consultant will provide support to Zamara Risk & Insurance Brokers (ZARIB) in all aspects of services and products provided by the Zamara Group.

    The role will report to the Head, Group Life.

    Key Responsibilities:

    New Business Acquisition

    • Delivery of budget - Ensure the set budget for both Group Life is realized for year.
    • Support in leading new business and cross selling initiatives across all lines of Zamara business.
    • Collaborate with Business Development to identify new revenue opportunities and solutions
    • Support in client market segmentation and target market identification
    • Drive sales process from pre-qualification to award of contract.
    • Response to request for proposal
    • Managing an efficient sales cycle (sales pipeline)

    Value Addition

    • Advise clients on market updates
    • Provision of technical expertise on market analysis
    • Provide new solutions and revenue opportunities

     

    Compliance

    • Preparation of contract documents in adherence to set guidelines & within stipulated timeframe.
    • Ensure statutory and internal requirements as stipulated in the ISO manual are met within statutory and internal timelines
    • Effective identification, management, and mitigation of business risks
    • Define, implement and review set service model and best practice
    • Ensure that proper management of accurate, quality and timely business reports. Monitor competitor activity and advise the business on opportunities/threats that are presented by such activities.

    Stakeholder & People Management

    • Ensure team performance through active participation on assigned tasks
    • Coach & mentor team members in order to grow internal capacity.
    • Continuously strengthen stakeholder (members, clients, regulator, service providers) relationships in order safeguard market share, ensure speedy resolution of issues and entrench Zamara brand as a market leader

    The following experience is preferred:

    • A Degree in Actuarial Science/Business related degree
    • CII/IIK certification is an added advantage
    • Minimum of three years’ experience in business development
    • Entrepreneurial skills
    • Good analytical skills
    • Great negotiating skills
    • Excellent communication skills.
